The JBPS Showgroup

The Janice Breen Performance Studio Showgroup are one of Sydney’s premier young performance groups. Founded and developed by Janice Breen OAM (1939-2017), one of Australia’s most long standing and respected choreographers and dance teachers, the group is now directed by Alysia Jarvis.

The JBPS Showgroup has appeared at all of Sydney’s major performance venues as well as numerous TV and corporate engagements. The Show Group has a long standing connection with the Channel 7 Carols in the Domain and has performed on the telecast every year since 1988, appearing with artists including Jay Laga’aia, Justine Clarke, Rachael Beck, Todd McKenney, Ashleigh Rubenach and Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

Students from the JBPS Showgroup have performed in many major musicals including The Lion King, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Billy Elliot, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Annie, Oliver, the Wizard of Oz, the Sound of Music as well as film, TV and advertising.

Selection for the JBPS Show Group is by audition. In addition to their Saturday classes, students must attend at least one RAD ballet class per week.
